Tandje Beach Resort

Tandje Beach Resort in Ponta do Ouro which is also know as Ponta Beach Camp.
"Tandje" actually means “Queen Mother” and the resort is close to the traditional burial ground of a powerful and previous King of the area.
The quaint little town of Ponta do Ouro is situated in Southern Mozambique just 10 km from the South African border.
The hustle & bustle of development, such as houses being restored to their former glory coupled with a good dose of laid back charm is what makes Ponta do Ouro such an unforgettable destination.

Tandje Beach Resort Camping - Various camp sites are on offer with 2 ablution blocks, which have hot water showers.
Please note that the water pressure is not the same as at home. It may disappear when you are having a shower as well as the HOT WATER.
The campsite offers the normal options, electricity points are available (bring a long extension cord).
Stands are allocated and over peak season you will pay per stand per night.
Low and High season, per person per night but with a Minimum charge per stand.
There are Beach Front stands, Middle Camp stands and the Camp stands towards the back area of the camping grounds.

A.SEAFRONT CAMPSITES: Now with dedicated Ablution Block | Site numbers 1 - 9.
A separate Ablution Block for the sole use of Sea Front Campers has been opened.
Each site will be issued a Key to the Ablution block against payment of a refundable R 100.00 deposit, at the Resort Reception.
All sites have Plug Points.

B.CENTER CAMPSITES: Site numbers 21 - 39.
Situated in the Center of the Campsite, near Ablution Facilities, and where most trees are found.
All sites have plug points.

C.GENERAL CAMPSITES: Remainder of sites.
The rest of the sites.
A very few have plug points, for which an additional charge is included in rate.

PRIVATE CAMPSITES: There are 4 Private campsites in a secure fenced area at Ponta Beach Resort – Main Camp.
They have a large 5m x 5m Gazebo per site, and both Light & Plug points.
The ablutions are far superior to the Main Campsite.

Please note that during High and peak season, the Camp does experience Power cuts due to the high volume
of guest in the Ponta do Ouro area. This is a basic camp site.

A beach bar is available and all the shops and markets in town offer all the basic requirements for your stay.

The beach in front of the campsite is ideal for water sports, sunbathing and beach games.
In the village, there is quad bike hire, and the sand roads in the area provide some exiting times for 4 x 4 enthusiasts.

All campsites are charged per person per day during low season at the applicable rate.
EXCEPT PRIVATE CAMPSITE, which is a 4 person (5m x 5m) Site.
During Standard Season the per person rate is levied, but with a minimum daily site rate.
i.e. the HIGHER of either the per person rate or daily site rate will be applicable.
During Peak Season, only a daily site rate is applicable.

VEHICLES : The number of cars that are allowed free – per site – is as follows. Site Area: Up to 100 sq.metres 1 FREE VEHICLE.
Site Area: 101 to 200 sq.metres 2 FREE VEHICLE.
Site Area: 201 to 300 sq.metres 3 FREE VEHICLE.
Should you not be able to park all your vehicles on your booked site you will have to park the extra vehicles in
the In-house Campsite Parking Area at an extra charge.

YOUR CAMPSITE AREA SELECTED MUST BE LARGE ENOUGH TO
ACCOMMODATE YOUR VEHICLES, TENTS, GAZEBOS & ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT

CAMPSITE RULES: Running of electrical extension cables to, or from, adjoining sites is expressly forbidden, as is any interference with
any electrical installation in the resort.
Braaing is allowed in suitable standing braai receptacles only – NO open fires or braaing on the ground.
Please do not encroach onto adjoining campsites.
Do not park trailers, boats, vehicles where they obstruct traffic or other sites.
