Island Rock Resort - Mozambique. Endless, sun drenched beaches, washed by the warm, blue waters of the Indian Ocean make Island Rock Resort a true holidaymakers paradise.
Nestled in coastal forest, up in the dunes and is unequivocally set on the picturesque coast of tropical Mozambique. Situated some 500 km north of Maputo, at Jangamo Beach (4x4 needed), just south of Inhambane.

Island Rock Resort Accomodation:Casitas (Grass & Thatched Cottages) / Lapa's (A number of brick and mortar cottages together) and Camping Sites.

Island Rock Resort - Grass and Reed Casitas.
The Casita's at Island Rock Resort are comfortable reed and grass rooms that line the beach front or are nestled in between the Beach Dunes.
There are a number of different configuration of Casitas available.
All the Casitas have their own kitchen from which to prepare your local seafood dishes. The Casitas are very popular with a definitive marooned island feel, yet they are very comfotable with the added benefit of being relatively cool in the summer.

Island Rock Resort has a number of different Casitas available:

3 Casitas that are 2 bed units with a kitchen (with these units you will have access to a communual abolution block)

1 Casita that has been built specialy for persons with disabilities (easy access and diabled bathroom configuration) this unit comes with a kitchen and it's own abolution facilities (with hot water being available)

1 Casita that sleeps 8. This Casita has a kitchen and it's aboltuion facilities with only cold water available.

22 Casitas that sleep 4. They all have their own kitchen, with access to a communual abolution facilities.

All the casitas have: 220V electric lights and power points.
Beds with matrass. Kitchen. Sombrero. Pots, Pans Cutlery and Crockery are supplied with each unit. 2 Plate gas stove

Recommendations: A Short electrical extension lead is recommended. Bring your own fridge, (9kg) gas bottles, chairs, table and bed linen.

Island Rock Resort - Lapas - The Lapas at Island Rock Resort are of a constructed of brick and mortar. Lapas is a defenitive Southern African defintion which refers to more than one structure that is based in a loose circle. At Island Rock Resort the Lapas have been built with groups and families in mind.
Each Lapa is set apart from the camp and nestled between the beach dune and indegenous bush.

There are 2 Lapas available. Lapa Orca and Lapa Lagosta.

Lapa Orca - has 5 Units that sleep 4 individuals in 4 single beds. There is a Communial kitchen area which includes the following for each house. Fridge and a cupboard where food can be stored. Gas plates and gas included in the price. All kitchen utencils, Pots, pans cutlery and crockery included. There is a Communial washing line. There is a Abolution block with hot water and 3 showers plus 2 toilets for both ladies and gents. Ensure that you bring your own towels and mosquito nets.

Lapa Lagosta - has 5 Units that sleep 5 individuals per house. (one double bed and 3 single beds). Each unit has its own shower and toilet.
There is a Communial kitchen area which includes the following for each house.
Fridge and a cupboard where food can be stored.
Gas plates and gas included in the price.
All kitchen utencils, Pots, pans cutlery and crockery included.
There is Communial washing line.
There is a Small abolution with one cold water shower and one toilet.
Ensure that you bring your own towels and mosquito nets.

Camping at Island Rock Resort - The Island Rock Resort Campsite is well laid out campsite nestled in the beach dunes along the Inhambane Coast. Each campsite is bordered by the wild indegenous bush with private, semi-private and communal sites available.

Island Rock Resort has 35 campsites available as single and group sites. There are 2 main large communal campsites available which can accommodate approximately 20 people each.

Some of the smaller campsites have sombreros available, so ensure to ask if one is available when booking.

There is electrical plug points available at each campsite.

Island Rock Resort has it's own water source from a borehole which is tested frequently. Fresh drinkable water is available and can be fetched from the abolution blocks.

Vehicle and trailer rooftop campers are welcome, campsites are available that are accessible by vehicle and trailers with rooftop tents. Please ensure that you let us know your requirements when booking.
Recommendations:
Bring a 5 metre extension (electrical).
Bring your own braai grids.
Bring along a 20L container for water.
Gas is unfortunately not available at the resort but gas canisters can be refilled in Inhambane.
