White Sands - Barra Accommodation
White Sands, Barra, Mozambique
White Sands is situated about 5km past
Barra Lodge. It is at the end of the peninsula, near the opening to the Inhambane Bay.
It is possible to get to campsite with 2x4 but preferable 4x4 in campsite.
Access to campsite during Spring tide is limited twice a month for about two hours.
White Sands Accommodation : They have 4 x Chalets which are self catering and have basic cooking utensils, gas stove and fridge/freezer. Bedding is provided and mozie nets,
but please take own towels, washing up liquid, dish cloths, washing powder, toilet paper etc, as these are not supplied.
There are 2 x 6 bed and 2 x 8 bed self catering Chalets, In each Chalet there is one bed room down stairs with a double bed and all single beds in an open plan area up stairs.
Camping is also available. Some sites have lapas (Barraca's) which provide for some extra shade. The ablutions are clean with both hot and cold water. There are plenty of showers both in and outdoors to accommodate all guests.
2 campsites share one central power point and you need to take extension cords with.
The only electrical equipment allowed are
deep freezers and fans.
Clients are allowed to bring Generators
for extra electrical equipment and can run Generators for 10H00 to 22H00.
There is a beach bar available which provides for some light meals and verious local restaurants in the area provide excellent cuisine.
