Morrungulo Holiday Resort is a well-established holiday resort. Set amongst a huge grove of coconut trees it provides camping and self catering chalet facilities – step straight onto a beautiful wide sandy clean beach.
Morrungulo resort caters for families, individuals, deep sea and surf fishermen, scuba divers and snorkellers. The camp rests under swaying coconut palms on the shores of the tropical Indian Ocean. It has extensive green lawns throughout the camp, shady indigenous trees, fresh drinking water and good security.
It is at the end of a 13 km sand road for which 4 x 4 is recommended but not essential.
Morrungulo is considered by many as the most picturesque area on the mainland south of the
Bazaruto Islands.
Morrungulo Holiday Resort Accommodation -
LUXURY VILLA:
(4 sleeper self-cater unit). Located on the hill near the restaurant over looking the sea. This unit has 2 luxury bedrooms with en suite bath and outdoor shower. It has a kitchen and separate lounge/dining area, There is also a double sofa bed located in the dining area which can accommodate 2 extra people for an additional charge. The Villa at Morrungulo comes with it's own private splash pool.
The unit is equipped with fridge, deep freeze, gas stove, crockery, cutlery for 6 people, pots, etc. Blankets, sheets and mosquito nets are provided for 6 people but clients MUST BRING THEIR OWN TOWELS as well as toiletries, toilet rolls and cleaning materials, as these are not supplied. Chalets are self catering. Domestics can be hired for cleaning, laundry etc.
BEACH FRONT CHALET: (4 sleeper) There are 7 of these particular chalets right on the beach front. They have a kitchen/dining area, one hot and cold gas shower and separate toilet, 2 bedrooms each sleeping 2 people.
The chalet is equipped with deep freeze, 2 plate gas stove, crockery, cutlery, pots, etc. Blankets, sheets and mosquito nets are supplied but clients MUST BRING THEIR OWN TOWELS, toiletries and cleaning materials, as these are not supplied.
There is also the provision in the dining area to fold down the benches to accommodate another 2 guests. Should there be more than 4 people utilising the chalet there is an additional charge. N.B. Extra guests must bring their own mattesses/ mozie nets/ bedding as this is NOT supplied. Tents are not permitted in chalet area.
The
New larger beach front units have bigger better bedrooms including dressing tables and more shelving, with larger windows and have cement walls as opposed to reed walls.
CASITA (Not on beachfront) There are 7 double storey units situated on the rise behind the chalets. These have 2 bedrooms (1 double bedroom downstairs and 2 single beds upstairs) Kitchen/dining area, one hot and cold gas shower and separate toilet. The casita is equipped with deep freeze, 2 plate gas stove, crockery, cutlery, pots, etc. Blankets, sheets and mosquito nets are supplied but clients MUST BRING THEIR OWN TOWELS, toiletries and cleaning materials as these are not supplied. There is also the provision in the dining area to fold down the benches to accommodate another 2 guests. Should there be more than 4 people utilising the chalet there is an additional charge. N.B. BARRACAS (Lapa) There are 4 of these open thatched 5m x 4 m concrete floored structures that each have a power point (5 amp), light and shelving. Most campers utilise these as a central living area and camp around the barraca. The barracas are located behind the chalets but close to the gas ablution blocks.
